Saturday MOPS Kickoff: Ask the Mentor Moms, Sept. 11!
Hooray! Saturday MOPS kicks off on September 11 at 9:30am. Join us for a fun day of re-connecting with moms you haven’t seen all summer and spend some time getting to know our Mentor Moms. We’ll put them on the hot seat and you can ask them anything (and I mean, anything). These are moms who have survived the preschool years, many of them while working outside the home, and they have lived to tell about it! Join us for a great fall kick-off for Campbell MOPS! As always, we'll have a delicious hot breakfast and free childcare is available (just call (408) 378-4900 or e-mail campbellMOPS@gmail.com with your child(ren)'s name(s) and age(s)).

September is MOPS Kickoff Month!
Hey Moms! We are very excited to have MOPS kicking off in September for the 2010-2011 season! Our regular monthly meetings start back up this month, and in the spirit of helping us reconnect with each other, we have two Mom's Nights Out scheduled for this month!
Please be sure to mark the following September dates on your calendars:
September 8, Wednesday MOPS meeting, 9:30
September 10, Mom's Night Out: Game Night at the home of Danielle Humphreys! 7-9pm
September 11, Saturday MOPS meeting, 9:30
September 23, Mom's Night Out: Coffee at Starbucks, Nob Hill Plaza in Campbell, 7:30 pm
As a special reminder to moms who attend the Saturday group, please note that it has moved to the second Saturday of the month and is now starting at 9:30 am. We'll be posting more information about all of these events in the days to come!

True Destiny (and enter to win!)

In high school, I was the shy, introverted, pimple-faced, nerd who nevergot a date. Months of piano lessons faltered on my clumsy hands, my cooking would make the staunchest overeater lose weight, and I was always the last one picked for sports. Have you ever felt like you don't measure up-that you aren't pretty enough, smart enough, funny enough, or talented enough to bring any value to this world? Most of my life I felt like God must have made a mistake when He created me, but the truth is, God made me exactly the way I was for a reason.
Seven years ago, God told me He had something for me to do that would blow me away. At the time, I was working at a job I hated, my kids were rebelling, and my marriage was falling apart. I thought I had misunderstood Him. Besides, what could I do? I couldn't even handle my own ordinary life. But, I wanted to believe Him. So, I stopped fighting and I gave Him complete control. Within two years, my first novel was published. Now I'm working on my 9th! At the time God spoke to me, I hadn't considered becoming a novelist, hadn't written a word, had no prior education or training. Now, I'm doing something I love and using it to glorify God. This is my destiny! So many people go through their entire lives and miss their destinies. Don't let that happen to you. Submit to God. No matter what He asks you to do, no matter the struggles, the trials, submit to Him and His will. And in Romans 12:2, He promises that His will for you is perfect, pleasing and good-something you and only you can do.

AWE: Sunday, August 15, 7pm!
Are you always looking for the next best thing? This AWE is for you!
This is a worship gathering targeting the young adult community (ages 18-39), although EVERYONE is welcome!
This gathering is about finding God, making friends, and serving together. On August 15th at 7pm, we'll gather to worship, where we will sing, share stories, take communion, and hear teachings from God's Word. Our guest speaker will be Glen Villanueva. Coffee, snacks and fellowship will follow. Free childcare is provided!

Community Outreach: Free Backpack event August 21!
Know any kids who could use some help going back to school in the fall? We're here to help! Kids from Kindergarten through Grade 5 may stop by the Campbell Church between 1:30-3:30pm on Saturday, August 21 to receive a FREE backpack and school supplies, and to select from donated books.
Refreshments and a bounce house will be there, too!

Backpack outreach event: supplies needed!
Did you know that there are kids in our local community who won’t have the necessary tools they need to start school in the fall? You and your kids can help! You can donate gently-used books and new school supplies that will be given away to local kids along with a brand-new backpack on August 21.
Donations needed:
Pencils
White glue
Glue sticks
Crayons
Markers
Colored Pencils
Notebooks
Pocket Folders
Wide-rule 3-hole paper
Kids’ Scissors
Rulers
Take your kids with you to Office Max or Target and help them pick out a few supplies to share with another child in need! Supplies may be brought to the Campbell Church office M-F 8:30-4:30pm, or on Sunday mornings between 8:30-noon. The donations are needed by Sunday, August 15, at noon.
